Mickey Mouse

One of my favorites!!!  Didn't these turn out so so cute!  I just love them!  One of my customers contacted me wanting Mickey Mouse Cupcakes for her little 3 year old Aidan.  I hope Aidan liked them as much as I did ha ha!!!

I will not be selling my cupcakes at Cravings Bistro any longer.  Though I will be selling them in a different location soon!!!  I will let you know!!!

Activity Days

My sister n'law was in charge of activity days for these 8 year olds.  She had me talk to them about cupcakes and cupcake wars.  We decorated cupcakes and they got to take a tour of the bistro.  Aren't they adorable!!!

Chocolate Fudge Sundae

Chaos!

It was my twinners bistros Grand Opening yesterday and holy crap was it CHAOS!!!  The second we opened the doors we had people waiting in a line out the door.  Wait time for food about 45 min to an hour!!!  We had a few up set people but a lot of happy people.  We felt really bad for those that had to wait so long for their food.  We thought it would be busy but not like this.  We actually ran out of food around 3 and had to close for an hour and a half to get more food, get re-stocked, and just re-freshen up.  I made about 600 cupcakes and around 2 most of them were sold out and around 4 they were completely gone.  I felt terrible, people were coming in just to get a cupcake and we had none :(  I am so so sorry about that, I hope that all of you come back, I promise the cupcakes are great and the grilled cheeses are delicious!  Angie and I were running around with our heads cut off but it was 110% worth it and we loved every second of the Chaos!!!  Thanks for all of your support, we love all of you so much!!!  Alisha - Cravings Cupcakes   Angie - Cravings Bistro

My thoughts on Cupcake Wars...

Pre Cupcake Wars - In our green room, happy as can be!

So I bet you thought we won...or at least got further than we did.  I bet you didn't think we got cut first especially after telling everyone that we were on the show and how excited I was!  I was hesitant at first to tell anyone we were on the show and then I thought "we were on cupcake wars!!!  A chance of a life time!  How many people can say they were on the Food Network living their dream!!!"  So I told the world we were going to be on Cupcake Wars.
My thoughts...really sad.  That day was one of the most depressing days of my life.  Not because I lost on Cupcake Wars because there is so much work behind the scenes that no one will ever know about but us.  I worked so hard to be on this show and I failed miserably !  What they didn't show is that Angie kept telling me to re-do the cupcake but I couldn't we didn't have enough time.  What else they didn't show you...we probably  tried 8 cupcakes and thought exactly what the judges said...bready, doughy, crumbly, just not good.  I should have made a cupcake that I knew not just make one up on the spot...what was I thinking!!!
Watching the show was very bitter sweet.  I am so grateful to be on the show but so embarrassed to be eliminated FIRST!!!
I hope those of you that have tried my cupcakes know that they aren't bready and doughy ha ha!  I hope that you that have not tried my cupcakes will come into Cravings and try one, I promise you will love them!
This has not defeated me.  I know I can make a good cupcake and I promise this will not be the last time you see me!!!

It's a boy!

It's a boy! A friend of mine Erin Wise asked me to make her sister a cupcake that told her if she was having a girl or a boy. She brought me the envelope with only me knowing what she was having. Inside the cupcake I put a little boy teddy bear and blue frosting to show her it was a boy!

Maple Bacon Cupcakes...WHAT?

So you see it all the time...bacon can be added to everything!  Recently I saw a maple glazed donuts with bacon crumbled on it and thought...hmm I should try this with a cupcake.  So I made a bacon buttermilk cupcake and topped it off with a maple butter cream frosting and sprinkled bacon bits on top.  I also go inspired by seeing chocolate covered bacon so I decided to also make a chocolate maple bacon cupcake.  A chocolate cupcake filled with bacon topped off with a rich chocolate frosting then drizzled with a maple glaze and sprinkled with more bacon!  You will have to get one and let me know the verdict!!!  I am selling them at Cravings Bistro for only $1 right now so hurry and get yours today!

Cravings Bistro is now open for buisness!!! Yae!  My twinner Angie just opened up her bistro in American Fork which also is selling my cupcakes!!!!  Each week there will be 5 to 6 different cupcake flavors.  For flavors each week I will post on Face Book  Make sure to be a fan because you will receive deals and steals ;) all the time!!!
Cravings BISTRO is owned by Angela Wilson.  It's a Grilled Cheese for Grown Ups...if you don't like Grilled Cheeses you will love these!!!  These are gourmet grilled cheeses, not ones you grew up with! Holy Crap, when I made this I thought OVER LOAD but if you like Rocky Road you will love this cupcake because it's a Rocky Road Cupcake!  A Chocolate cupcake filled with caramel and toasted almonds topped off with a chocolate frosting filled with marshmallows, drizzled with more caramel and topped off with a marshmallow!  Wowza thats a lot but oh my goodness so good!  They will be here all week so come grab yourself one :)

Bride and Groom Cake Pops

 Last week I got a call from California.  Chris asked me if I made cake pops, I told him yes but I let him know I was in Utah (I actually had a lady do her whole wedding order and we finally realized she was in New Jersey!) he replied he was wanting for them for friends that lived in Utah.  Alright I said!  He wanted to congratulate his friends on getting married so he wanted to give them a gift basket with "Bride and Groom" cake pops.  Well this was a first for me!!!  ALOT of trials and errors, chocolate all over the place, I'm not going to lie, I don't make cake pops a lot so it did NOT come easy to me ha ha!!!  Well after a lot of errors I finally got them done!  Whala!!!  Aren't they cute!

Cravings is expanding...kind've...my twinner Angela Wilson is opening up a Bistro inside of the boutique Finders Keepers located 63 East Main St., American Fork, Utah.  She will be serving gourmet grilled cheeses for adults and kids too!  My two favorites are the ABC which is granny smith Apples, brown sugared Bacon and sharp Chedder Cheese.  The other favorite, the Gourmet Grilled Cheese which is a grilled cheese full of spinach, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese, artichokes and lots more yummy stuff!  You have to try this bistro out it's one of the only grilled cheese bistros in Utah.  And of course she will be selling Cravings Cupcakes and there will be a different cupcake each week like Maple Bacon Chocolate Cupcake, Better then What cupcake, Banana Split Cupcake, Hot Fudge Sundae Cupcake, Tres Leches Cupcake, and more to come!!!  Find us on FACEBOOK (cravings-alishascupcakes and cravings bistro)for coupons and just to say hi!  Cravings Bistro should be open in a week or two!  I will let you know asap!
